Berekum Arsenals coach Ernest Appau has resigned from the club to undertake a training course in Germany.

Appau took charge of the side’s game against Heart of Lions on Wednesday before resigning his position.

“I want to upgrade myself and I think if I don’t do it now I might never get the chance to do it again,” the former Asante Kotoko full-back.

“The training opportunity in Germany is something I cannot give up.”

Appau is midway through a two year contract with the Berekum side and has not shut the door entirely on a return to the side.

“If I come back in December and they feel they still need my services then I will go back,” he said.

He quits after guiding them to fourth place in the Onetouch Premier league and is convinced he is leaving the club in the best state possible.
