The much-awaited 2008 Glo Top Four competition kicks off tomorrow with all four teams, Asante Kotoko, Heart of Lions, Berekum Arsenals and Liberty Professionals determined to win the ultimate at stake to please their followers ahead of the start of the new league season.

Arsenals who have never defeated Asante Kotoko at the Baba Yara stadium will try to make history by recording a first over the Reds in Kumasi. Kotoko will on the otherhand seek to put some smile back on the faces of their faithful supporters after losing out to Tunisian side Etoile du Sahel 2-0 last Sunday in the C.A.F Confederation cup.

Kotoko will not only want to lift up the spirit of their supporters, but also need to win to boost their moral as they prepare for their next match in the Confederation Cup series against Sudanese side Al Merreikh in Kumasi.

Much will be expected from their attackers expected to be led by newly-crowned goal king Eric Bekoe to see them through this game as they begin the defence of the trophy they won last year.

But it should not be a surprise seeing Arsenals raising their game against Kotoko.

The Arsenals defence will however have to keep an eye on the attackers of Kotoko who will want to impress ahead of the clash with the Sudanese next week at the Baba Yara Stadium.

Fans at the Ohene Djan Stadium in Accra will also be thrilled to an afternoon of good football when Heart of Lions and Liberty Professionals lock horns.

This match promises to be full of action with hindsight to past encounters between the two sides.

Heart of Lions were undoubtly one of the best sides in the just ended League. Their qualification to the champion’s league next year confirmed their status as a top notch side.

They boast of good players and if they make use of the talents at their disposal, it will not surprise many if they beat Liberty in tomorrow’s encounter.

Liberty Professionals whose performance during the latter half of the season dropped, will have to work much harder to face the might of Lions if they hope to survive.

Fans of Liberty will be counting on the rich experience of the head coach, Jones Attuquayefio to plan the downfall of Heart of Lions in this opening fixture of the GHALCA organised event.
