Kotoko stumble in group opener

Kumasi Asante Kotoko’s went down 0-2 to Etoile du Sahel in the opening group game of the 2008 CAF Confederations Cup.

The Porcupine Warriors who finished the game with ten men after Osei Kwame, one of their players was sent off.

Etoile, the 2007 CAF Champions League winners completely dominated the first half as they managed to find target after 12 minutes.

Kotoko failed to clear a corner kick which allowed Nigerian Emeka Okpara to head in the opener for the Tunisians.

The goal separated both sides as they went for recess.

Though starting the second brightly, Kotoko failed to draw level with Kwabena Yaro hitting his shot over the bar from the edge of the box four minutes into the half.

The in the 69th minute, the host team went up again as Emeka headed in another cross beyond Soulama Abdoulaye.

Five minutes after the second goal, Kotoko were handed another problem as Osei Kwame was red carded for a second bookable offence.
