Kumasi Asante Kotoko have laughed off reports that their right back Samuel Inkoom is heading to Spanish giants Barcelona for trials and insist stories linking Eric Bekoe to clubs in England, Spain and Germany are false.

Media reports earlier this week claimed Inkoom, a member of the Ghana U-20 side has been handed a trial by the Catalans that could lead to a deal but Kotoko chief executive has rubbished those reports.

“The reports are all false”, chief executive Sylvester Asare Owusu said.

“Barcelona is a highly professional club and if they are interested in any of our players, they will inform us officially. At the moment we have received no such notifications.”

The Kotoko chief executive is worried that regular media reports claiming lucrative deals for his players by self-styled agents which the club is not aware of could hamper the concentration of his players as they seek to do well in the CAF Champions League.

The club’s official newspaper Kotoko Express also insisted that reports that German club Hertha Berlin, Tottenham Hotspurs and Atletico Madrid were chasing league top goal scorer Eric Bekoe were false before none of those clubs has made a request to Kotoko for trials or negotiations.
