Ghana and Libya have set their sights on all three points at stake as both sides seek to seize the initiative in one of the tightest groups in Africa's 2010 World Cup qualifiers.
The Black Stars lead Group 5 on goal difference ahead of the Libyans and will be keen to put some daylight between themselves and their nearest rivals.
But the Libyans whose realistic target is the 2010 Nations Cup which they are desperate to play in before hosting the event in 2012 know defeat against the Black Stars could cost them dearly.
With Gabon three points behind the duo and Libya to visit Libreville on the final day, tonight’s game may be the one they must take advantage of.
It is what makes this tie intriguing. With their domestic league on recess, the Libyans have been camping for the last month towards this.
They were unlucky not to score in the first leg after creating some gilt edged chances but feel they can seize the initiative here with most of the locals predicting a 2-0 win.
Ghana's away form in the present qualifiers will inspire little confidence after conceding four times in two games. The country's visits to North Africa have often ended in defeat but the present generation of players say they will get it right.
From a Ghanaian fan's view point it is the only option they have. Despite three wins in four qualifiers so far, there are still many who are not yet convinced that this side are certainties for another World Cup appearance.
With a new coach whose appointment has not inspired much confidence, a win will be the only the traditional belief and affection for the Black Stars will return.
