Anthony Annan will get his dream move to the English Premiership once Blackburn Rovers and his Norwegian club IK Start can agree on a transfer fee after his trials under Paul Ince.
Annan was due to complete the trials on Friday but KickOffGhana.com understands from sources close to the deal that Blackburn boss Paul Ince has made up his mind on the player’s quality and asked the Ghanaian international to call time on the trial on Thursday.
Ince will now concentrate his efforts on agreeing a fee with the player’s Norwegian club IK Start in order to make the former Hearts of Oak man his latest signing at Blackburn.
Start are asking for 2.5-million Euros, but Blackburn think the amount is on the high for a player still unproven at the highest level in European football and with only a one year of international football experience to his name.
What is not in doubt though is Ince’s admiration for Annan’s battling qualities in the middle of the park.
“Paul has decided he is a player he likes and has decided he has seen enough. Now he wants to do a deal with Start,” the source told KickOffGhana.com.
Annan himself spoke highly of his potential new boss on Wednesday saying it will be an honour to work with the former England star.
“I am very proud to have the opportunity to work with Paul Ince, everybody in world football knows what a great player he was and to have the opportunity to learn from him is fantastic, it can only help to make me a better player,” he said.
