Samuel Inkoom is bracing himself up for a fine debut season in Switzerland after making his debut for FC Basel this weekend.
The Ghana international right-back joined the Swiss side this season and says he is already having a terrific time there.
“Thankfully I made my debut in a friendly game which we won 3-0 and everyone in the stadium agrees I played well,” Inkoom said.
“It was as if I had been at this club all this while because the fans responded to me really well. More important too, the coach said he had been impressed with the way I played.”
Inkoom made his name at Asante Kotoko as a marauding right back and is confident that style will serve him well in Switzerland.
“I was running up and down the right side and the coach said he liked that style where the right back contributes significantly to attack. My main priority is to defend but I will continue to play a key part when the team goes forward.”
Inkoom is on a four-year deal at Basel.
