National Under-20 coach, Sellas Tetteh is confident of his Black Satellites would produce an improved performance to seal qualification to the to next year’s African Youth Championship.

An 18-member playing squad would be representing Ghana in the return game.

Ghana plays away to the Gambia in Banjul on Sunday with the Black Satellites leading 2-1 from the first leg fixture played in Accra.

Ahead of Sunday’s crunch decider, Sellas Tetteh would be counting on the availability of Andre Ayew and Emmanuel Agyeman-Badu, after both players missed the first leg match at the Ohene Djan Stadium.

The national Under-20 coach saw his side rally back from a goal down to seal a slender 2-1 lead.

And that result left Ghana missing the chance to be in a far more comfortable position of qualification ahead of the return clash.

“We are going into the game much confident and are sure of qualifying to the next championship.

“It’s an important game and I have confidence in my players to put in the kind of performance that they gave in the second half during the first leg.

“I need total concentration from everyone and that would see us through.”

The Black Satellites have missed out of the last editions of the African Youth Championship.

But Sellas Tetteh is sure the present squad has what it takes to seal Ghana a place at the Championship.

“We have worked on our mistakes and are in good position now having played them (Gambians). I think we would be better prepared to contest them.”

Africa’s qualifying series has now been narrowed down to 14 sides after July’s first round of qualifiers.

Seven teams would qualify over the two-leg fixture which ends this weekend for the Championship to be hosted by Rwanda in 2009.
