Alhaji Abdul Karim Grunsah, founder and bankroller of King Faisal FC insists Ghana needs to be consistent in promoting its players, especially the young stars to the national teams, to enable it become a force to reckon with in world soccer.

He deplored situations where talented, young and up-and-coming stars were rushed into the senior national team, the Black Stars, saying, “The practice is not the best for the country”.

Grunsah openly bewailed the situation where talented young stars were rushed into the Black Stars and later ended up fading out of the system sooner than expected.

Speaking in an interview, the experienced and outspoken football manager suggested that young players should be promoted through the ranks to avert the possibility of destroying their careers overnight.

“The young players should be promoted from the Starlets then to Satellites to Meteors and finally to the Black Stars to enable the country benefit from their talents”.

Grunsah contended that it was only through the aforementioned format that Ghana could compete squarely with football powerhouses like Argentina and Nigeria who were already practicing the system.
