Former Kumasi Asante Kotoko coach Abdul Karim Zito is celebrating his first League triumph as Sahel FC coach after leading the Niger side to their 12th League title.

Zito has now set his sights on impressing in the African Champions League even though he admits that will take time.

“I have always said Sahel is on the level of what Hearts and Kotoko are in Ghana so to win with them is a big thing and a step forward for me,” he said.

Zito has completed his first one year deal with the club and is hoping for an extension.

Niger has provided the former Asante Kotoko player a home away from home after he was sacked by Hearts of Oak in December 2007 for non-performance.
