Ghana-born striker Mustapha Riga is keen on impressing in England after completing his move to Bolton.

The striker scored in his debut for the club as Bolton brushed aside Chorley in a friendly on Saturday.

Riga said: "I am glad it's sorted and that is the most important thing. I can say now that I am an official player of Bolton.

"I am now in Bolton where I hope to give all I can so we can have a good season.

"They (England and Spain) are the two best leagues in the world and all the time these two countries do well in the Champions League and UEFA Cup, so I think I made a good choice coming to the Premier League and Bolton."

Riga, a former Holland Under-21 international, was one of a number of players forced to protest at Levante’s failure to pay them last season.

The club suffered acute financial problems that culminated in their relegation from the Spanish top flight.

The Ghana-born forward signed a three-year deal at the Reebok Stadium, will be expected to replace El Hadji Diouf, who has joined Sunderland.
