Kwesi Appiah leaves Black Stars job

Ghana's Kwesi Appiah has today left his position as Black Stars coach.

This follows a meeting involving GFA President Kwesi Nyantakyi and Kwesi Appiah in Accra where both sides accepted to mutually terminate the contract between the coach and the Ghana Football Association.

The GFA will be reaching an agreement over a severance package with Appiah.

The former Ghana international's last match at the helm was a 3-2 away win over Togo in their second qualifying match for 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.

Appiah was appointed as the substantive head coach of the Black Stars two years ago after serving as an assistant since 2008.

The former international and captain of the senior team lead Ghana to a fourth place finish at the at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations and subsequently qualified the team to their third-straight World Cup.
