MTN pledges support for “MTN Soccer Academy”

Telecommunication giants, MTN Ghana has pledged its support for the development of the youth through sports, hence their commitment and support for the organization of “MTN Soccer Academy” concept.

Noel Ghanson, who stood in for the Chief Marketing Officer, when the five finalist of the 2013 MTN Soccer Academy visited the Corporate Office of the MTN to familiarize themselves with the operations of the company, said his outfit is committed to supporting the innovation, having sponsored the programme for six years.

He said his company’s primary focus regarding the competition was to focus on the youth, adding “Our focus is growing young ones to have a future for themselves, by believing in themselves, exhibit the can do spirit, which are the values of MTN”.

The finalists also expressed appreciation to MTN for giving them the platform to demonstrate their talents.

The finalists- Bawa Abou - Wa Senior High School, Ebenezer Commey- Odorgonnor Senior High School, Essau Stephen - Sekondi College, Daniel Azuberi – Bolgatanga Senior High School and Franklin Asante of St Thomas Aquinas Senior High School were accompanied by Neil Amstrong Mortagbe, Chief Executive of Optimum Media Prime(OMP), organizers of the competition.

Armstrong Mortagbe, expressed appreciation to MTN for their support for the concept over the last six years.

He said they are keen on ensuring that, the talents that are developed through the academy given the needed platform to excel in their career.

They would vie for the ultimate prize on Saturday, March 9 at the MTN Soccer Academy Home
