Ghana's international fixture with Nigeria at Vicarage Road Stadium has been called off.

Following the events in London, the Ghana Football Association delegation with the team were this afternoon informed of the decision by the match organisers.

"We have just been informed by the match organisers about the latest decision calling off today's friendly with Nigeria at Watford," Executive Committee member, Randy Abbey confirmed to www.ghanafa.org.

The game has been called off following widespread unrest in certain parts of London and England.

Due to concerns regarding policing, the organisers of the game have advised that the fixture cannot be hosted.

The Nigerian team have also been informed of the decision.
