Black Stars assistant coach Kwesi Appiah says Sunday’s African Nations Championships qualifier against Nigeria will be as intense as regular internationals between the two sides.

The West African rivals meet in the first leg final CHAN qualifier on Sunday with Ghana eager to get a healthy advantage.

Appiah thinks the local stars can win by two or three goals before the return leg and says he expects the game to be intense.

“I think it will be like every Ghana vs. Nigeria game and that has reflected in our training,” he told KickOffGhana.com.

“Once it is involving these two sides whether its kids playing, girls, the regular side or local side, it will be played with the same passion.”

“For the players on the local scene this means a great deal. They want to play in the championships in Ivory Coast because they understand the importance of the competition to their various careers.”
