Ghana’s latest flops at the U-17 level will be given the required guidance to become full blown stars by the Ghana Football Association.
The Black Starlets were dumped out of the qualifying process for the African U-17 at final stage by Gambia in a result that also means they will not play at the world U-17 championships.
Local football observers say that could have an adverse effect on the development of the next generation of stars but Ghana Football Association president Kwesi Nyantakyi says they will work to give the youngsters a big future.
“The result was unfortunate but our policy with the youth teams is not really to win trophies,” Nyantakyi told KickOffGhana.com.
“So whether the team is in or out, we will keep them together, get them into competitions and help them progress into the next level which is the U-20s and beyond.”
