| Greater Accra Region wins Karate-Do at National Unity Games |

Greater Accra Region emerged the overall winners of the Karate-Do competition at the ongoing National Unity Games in Accra.
The host Region emerged winners in the male -60kg, -67kg,-84kg and
Open Weight competition by picking gold medals in the weight categories to
win the competition.
They were followed by Volta Region who swept gold honours in the Male
+84kg, -75kg and silver in -60kg and -67kg, with the Western Region picking
up the third position by dominating in the female -53kg by picking all the
medals in that category.
The Westerners also won laurels in the overall male category to ensure
their third place was well secured.
Ashante Region picked up the fourth position by picking bronze in the
male -60kg and -67kg weight categories.
The completion is one of the few disciplines that have come to a
successful end in the week long National Unity Games that brought together
athletes form the Regions, the Security Services, the Universities and other
institutions.
