The September Medal Open Golf Championship of the Celebrity Golf Club tees off at Sakumono, near Tema on Sunday, September 28.
Mr Joe Ohemeng, Captain of the Celebrity Golf Club who announced this at Tema on Sunday, said about 100 golfers from Achimota, Tema, Bok Nam Kim and Celebrity Golf Clubs are expected to participate in the competition.
He said the one-day 18-Hole Medal Play competition which would be played in accordance with the rules of the Ghana Golf Association and the local rules of the Celebrity Golf Club, is being sponsored by the Celebrity Golf Club.
Mr Ohemeng said the Club has put in place plans to ensure that the Medal Play competitions are held every month. He asked the members and corporate bodies to support the development and promotion of the sport initiated by the Club.
Three prizes would be awarded in the Men's category while one would be given in the Ladies event.
