All is set for the Andrew Holmes Farewell Open Golf Championship scheduled for the Achimota Golf Course in Accra on Friday, August 8.
Mr Kwabena Oteng-Aboaogye, General Manager of the Achimota Golf Club told GNA Sports in Accra on Monday that the event is to bid farewell to Mr Andrew Holmes, a trustee of the Club and Managing Director of Taysec Construction Limited, who had served the club and the company for so many years.
He said it is through the initiative of Mr Holmes that Taysec contributed immensely to the development of the sport including the sustenance of the annual Taywood Bowl Championship.
Mr Oteng-Aboagye said the one-day competition which will be played under the local rules of the Achimota Golf Club and the Ghana Golf Association has Handicap 18 and 24 as the entry requirements. Mike Aggrey, Sam Sowah, Charles Tabi and Matthias Dorfe are some of the golfers expected to take part in the competition.
Mr Mike Ezan, President of the Achimota Golf Club is expected to present the trophy to the winners.
