Acheampong wins Voltic Medal Golf

Alex Acheampong returned a net score of 68 to win this month's Achimota Golf Club's Voltic Medal Open Golf Championship played at the Club's Golf course in Accra on Sunday.

Garry Jones took the second position with 69 points, while Carl Brew-Aidoo placed third, losing on count-back to Brew-Aidoo.

The Joy Arkutu won the only prize in the Ladies category after she returned a net score of 70 in the keenly contested event.

The one-day 18-Hole Medal Play competition, which was sponsored by Voltic Ghana Limited attracted over 100 participants.

Mr Robert Evans, Captain of the Achimota Golf Club praised the company for its contributions towards the development of the sport.

He urged other corporate bodies and institutions to help develop the sport to meet international standards.

Officials of the company graced the occasion and assisted in presenting of prizes to deserving winners.
