100 golfers to vie for Voltic Medal trophy

About 100 golfers would parade at the Achimota Golf Course in Accra to vie for the maiden Voltic Ghana Limited July Medal Open Championship trophy on Saturday, July 19.

The one-day 18-Hole Medal Play competition, which is open to amateur golfers in the Greater Accra Region, would be played in accordance with the governing rules of the Ghana Golf Association.

Mr Kwabena Oteng-Aboagye, General Manager of the Achimota Golf Club, said in Accra on Wednesday that the event was opened to players of Handicap 18 and 24 while those with Handicap 30 may play to Handicap 24.

Robert Evans, Captain of the Achimota Golf Club would lead his team which would include Mike Ezan, President of the Club, Mike Aggrey, Vice Captain and other members including Daniel Dennis, Charles Tabi, Mike Ben-George and Sam Sowah.

Mona Captan, Clara Price, Francisca Vandyck and Ama Morgan are among the competitors who would battle each other for the Ladies trophy.
