Former boxing world champion Azumah Nelson claims he is owed more than $500,000 from his June 24 fight with Marrickville Mauler Jeff Fenech.
Nelson, 50, is pursuing legal action after being paid only $272,000 from the fight with Fenech over three months ago.
The super-featherweight champion alleges he agreed to a fee of $800,000 for the bout and that Fenech and fight promoter, Sydney celebrity manager Max Markson, have done wrong by him.
"I deal with God directly. Nobody does something to me and go free. He (Fenech) is going to put himself in a big problem," Nelson told News Limited newspapers.
Both Fenech and Markson denied any money was owed to Nelson.
"Azumah should be over the moon with what he's got, which is more than I ended up with," Fenech said.
"To my knowledge he was never promised $800,000 or a figure like that.
"We both hoped to make more money and our expectations were high but it didn't turn out that way."
Markson said the fees were dependent on ticket sales and pay-per-view figures and was happy to discuss Nelson's complaint with the fighter directly.
Nelson lost the controversial fight but added he could have knocked the 44-year-old Fenech out.
"But if I know before the fight that some people tell lies, then I would have knocked him out," he said.
