IBF Welterweight king, Joshua ‘Hitter’ Clottey has stated emphatically that he will only fight his bitter rival, Antonio Magarito on a condition.

According to the World champion, the promoters have agreed to the proposed fight scheduled for the latter part of this year but the purse is below his expectation.

“The promoters have expressed great interest in the forthcoming bout but they have agreed to offer $600,000, a figure below my $1,000,000 target,” Clottey told the Chronicle newspaper in Accra last Friday. He revealed that besides the financial package involved, he is stirred by the fact that he has what it takes to batter the Mexican champion.

Despite suffering a broken knuckle in round five, Clottey managed to travel the full length of his titanic clash with Magarito in Las Vegas, in 2006.

At an informal courtesy call on Mr. Ray Quarcoo, the former chairman of the Ghana Boxing Association and a SWAG patron, Clottey thanked Mr. Quarcoo for his immense contribution in his (Clottey) boxing career.
