Boxing Authority gets new Technical Director

The Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) has appointed Mr Oko Odamtten as its new Technical Director.

Odamtten's appointment follows the sudden death of Mr Peter Essandoh who was the technical director.

A statement signed by Patrick Anyidoho Cofie, General Secretary of the GBA copied to the GNA Sports said that Odammten's appointment takes effect from July 1, this year.

The Technical Director of the GBA is expected to coordinate all technical activities of the Authority and also to unearth new boxing talents.

In a related development, Mr Moses Foh-Amoaning, Chairman of the GBA will on Thursday, July 10, hold a meeting with all boxing promoters and managers.

According to a statement issued on Wednesday, the meeting was to discuss proposals with Gateway Broadcasting Services (GBS) on boxing promotions, Men Only Boxing Competitions, Boxer/Manager contracts and overseas travels for boxers and other pertinent issues.
